Docs drift. Docqet doesn’t.

Why Fabric first

After years of consulting on Microsoft Fabric rollouts, the pattern is consistent. Fabric unifies lakehouses, warehouses, semantic models, pipelines, and notebooks in a single interface, producing a surface area that rapidly exceeds what any individual can maintain in documentation. Existing tools, built for narrower platforms, do not map across Fabric’s asset types or capture how those assets connect.

Docqet launches Fabric-first because the documentation gap is most severe there and least well served by incumbent tools. Snowflake and Databricks are next on the roadmap.

Who's building this

Docqet is built by Dustin Hladek. Over more than a decade across data platforms as an engineer, consultant, analyst, manager, and architect, one failure mode recurred on every team: platforms evolve faster than their documentation, institutional knowledge concentrates in individuals, and both gaps become visible only when a new hire arrives or an audit begins. Onboarding and compliance absorb the cost each time.

Docqet addresses that gap directly.

Principles

The commitments that shape how Docqet is designed, operated, and priced.

  • Metadata only. Always.

Docqet reads table names, column names, expressions, and lineage. It does not read, store, or transmit the underlying data. This is a product-level boundary, not a pricing tier.

  • Documentation is portable.

The documentation Docqet generates belongs to you. Integrate it into the wikis, knowledge bases, and portals your team already uses, or export to standard formats. No lock-in to Docqet’s storage.

  • Transparent pricing.

Pricing will be public. No seat minimums disclosed only in sales conversations, and no revenue-based gating between customers and a price.

What's next

Docqet is pre-launch. Microsoft Fabric is the first platform supported at launch, with Snowflake and Databricks next on the roadmap. Waitlist members receive occasional product updates and have direct input on priorities.
